Introduction to WWII and our Website:
        World War II started when the Germans invaded Poland on 1 September 1939 after 27 years of peace. WWII was a global military conflict lasting from 1939 to 1945, which involved most of the world's nations. During WWII, two opposing military alliances formed: the Allies and the Axis. The Allies countries included Britain, France, Soviet Union, China and many other countries, while the Axis powers included Germany, Italy, Japan and many others. WWII was also known as a total war, in which all areas and fields of the nation were involved.         During World War II, Germany conquered and subdued much of continental Europe while Japan invaded China and aimed at conquering most of Pacific Asia. After six years of bloody fighting, the war in Europe ended with the capture of Berlin. The war in Asia ended on 15 August 1945 with the surrender of Japan after United States tossed two atomic bombs in Nagasaki and Hiroshima in Japan.

        The main focus of this website is to explore lives of the leaders of Axis Powers during WWII, and more importantly, to analyze how their actions impacted each other and the whole world. We will focus on the three main aggressive leaders of the Axis Powers: Adolf Hitler in Germany, Benito Mussolini in Italy and Gerneral Hideki Tojo in Japan. You will find information on early lives, routes to power and actions during WWII of those leaders.
